The following appeared after triple immunization and the 1st revaccination: hyperemia (18.1-2.6%), induration (42.5-39.1%), fever up to 37.6-38.5[degree]C (23.6-7.1%), over 38.50C (2.9-0.7%), vomiting and diarrhea (1.1[long dash]0.3%) and eruption after the 1st revaccination (0.4%). These reactions appeared chiefly 6 to 12 hr. after the injection and declined within the 1st 24 hr, and at times in 48[long dash]60 hr. A positive Schick reaction in the experimental (2.3%) and control groups (3.2%) demonstrated that scarlet fever toxin failed to depress the formation of diphtheria immunity. Immunization with the vaccine studied caused intense tetanus immunity. The Dick reaction indicated that 93.4% of the persons vaccinated with the vaccine neutralized 1 skin dose. Of this number 62.6% neutralized 4 skin doses and 29.7%[long dash]10 skin doses of the toxin. In the control group 1,4 and 10 skin doses of the toxin were neutralized in 53.2, 22.4 and 7.9% of the cases.
