In Norway lime-sulphur has proved unsatisfactory against pear scab, but in recent exps. 3 applications with various types of Bordeaux, just before and after blossoming, and 4-7 wks. later, have usually given good results, mostly without spray injury to the fruit. The application just before blossoming was most important, but all 3 applications were necessary to get best results. Spraying with Bordeaux also gave, in combination with pruning, promising results against pear canker (Nectria galligena). Promising results were obtained with Bordeaux in the control of apple scab by applying it 1 week before blossoming, followed by the 3 lime-sulphur applications. 2 sprayings with Bordeaux before and after blossoming controlled Plasterosporium carpophilum on cherries. On the whole "white" Bordeaux, containing twice as much lime as CuSO4, has proved less satisfactory than ordinary Bordeaux.
