Roentgen manifestations of pulmonary metastases of choriocarcinoma and chorioadenoma destruens

, : Roentgen manifestations of pulmonary metastases of choriocarcinoma and chorioadenoma destruens. Chin Med 3: 215-229

From January 1949 to December 1965, 195 cases of choriocarcinoma were examined in which 164 (84.1%) had pulmonary metastasis, and 149 cases of chorioadenoma destruens with 90 cases (60.4%) of pulmonary metastasis. The cardinal roentgenologic manifestations of pulmonary metastases of choriocarcinoma comprise 4 forms, namely: patchy form, nodular form, cotton ball-like form and tumefied form, each form having its own pathologic verification. Basing on our correlated pathologic and arteriographic study of autopsied or resected lung specimens, the localized irregular thickening of lung markings and the bead-like changes as early roentgen manifestations of choriocarcinoma lung metastasis were considered.
