Some clinical and laboratory values in children with latent rheumatism

, : Some clinical and laboratory values in children with latent rheumatism. Pedlatrlya 44(2): 25-28

Two-hundred seven children, aged 3 to 14 years, admitted into diagnostic rheumatological department were examined. After thorough clinical investigations, employing additional methods and observations, 100 of these children were found to have a latent course of rheumatism after discharge from the hospital. A detailed anamnesis as well as a careful study of the clinical signs of the illness are very important for a correct diagnosis. The diphenylamine reaction, electrophoretic study of serum protein fractions, antistrepto-lysin-O, antistreptohyaluronidase, and seromucoid are the most sensitive among the laboratory methods.
