, : The basis of the stimulating effect of humus on the germination of Tilletia spores. Agrartudomany 1: 252-254

Expts. with spores of T. tritici and T. foetens proved that either trimethylamine or a derivate of it is responsible for the inhibiting effect which prevents the germination of spores. If the spores come into contact with soil, especially with humus, this inhibitor is removed from them by adsorption, and germination can then proceed freely.
