The cave fauna of the Dnestr River area

, : The cave fauna of the Dnestr River area. Byull Moskov Obshchestva Ispytatelei Prirody Otdel Biol 67(3): 29-37

The article gives new data on the cave fauna of the Western Ukraine (Stanislav and Ternopol oblasts). Four caves are briefly described. A list is given of the forms of Araneina (2), Acarina (1), Diplopoda(l), Collembola (2), and Coleoptera (4) found in the caves. There is a description of Trechus podolicus from the Bilche-Zolotetsk cave. The speleofauna of the Dnestr River area is similar to that of Central Europe and consists chiefly of troglodytic species. Beetles were abundant and the article includes a list of beetles discovered in the caves of the USSR.
