The identification of the motile butyric-acid-bacteria

, : The identification of the motile butyric-acid-bacteria. Schweiz Zeitschr Path U Bakt 13(5): 560-565

The motile butyric acid bacteria are those forms of Clostridium which have no great proteolytic effect but a remarkable saccharolytic effect. Several types are described in the literature. 260 strains were examined several times at intervals. The fermentation of sugars, the form of the colony, the spores and the ability to fix elemental. N were investigated. No constant differentiating characters were observed; the different types seem to be only synonyms for C. butyricum.
