The relation of cholinesterase to acetylcholine and blood-pressure

, : The relation of cholinesterase to acetylcholine and blood-pressure. Arch Exptl Path U Pharmakol 200: 235-243

Permanent infusion of 9-75 [gamma] of acetylcholine/min. into the femoral vein of cats under chloralose-urethane anesthesia was followed by a reduction of cholinesterase activity. Similar results were obtained after injecting Doryl (carbaminoylcholine), which was not destroyed by cholinesterase. No strict correlation existed between cholinesterase activity and blood pressure. Substances with a pressor action (Ikoral B) did not alter cholinesterase activity.
