The systematic scheme of European species of the genus Delphinium

, : The systematic scheme of European species of the genus Delphinium. Frag Florist Geobotan 9(4): 429-446

All the European Delphinium spp. can be divided into the 3 sects, differentiated by De Candolle: Delphinastrum, Delphinium (= Delphinellum), and Staphisagria. Sect. Delphinastrum contains 15 spp. divided by the author into 2 subsects: (1) Elatoidea (series Montana B. Paw[image]. and Elata B. Paw[image].): and (2) Squamate B. Paw[image]. (series Pentagyna B. Paw[image]. and Fissa B. Paw[image].). Sect. Delphinium, of Mediterranean character, has 8 European spp. divided into 2 series: Peregrina B. Paw[image]. and Halterata B. Paw[image]. Sect. Straphisagria, also Mediterranean, has only 3 spp. The genus Delphinium is represented by only 2 spp. in Poland, both of sec. Delphinastrum: D. oxysepalum Borb. et Pax and D. elatum L.
