Letter prediction by aphasic persons

, : Letter prediction by aphasic persons. Journal of Communication Disorders 5(3): 247-250

Twenty normal and twenty aphasic adults individually predicted the successive spaces of unrelated English paragraphs of 100 words each. Seventy per cent of the predictions of the normal subjects were correct; 45 per cent of the predictions of the aphasic subjects. Despite the differences in frequency of correct responses the two groups tended to use the same letters (spaces) (a) in their overall output, (b) in their error responses, (c) in their digrams, and (d) in their errors in predicting the second letters of digrams.
