Spectral shaping and waveguide modes in retinal cones

, : Spectral shaping and waveguide modes in retinal cones. Vision Research 15(5): 591-593

Analytic approximations for the waveguide mode intensity distributions, photographed by Enoch in retinal cones, are suggested. Using this representation the power coupled into each of these modes per unit wave number is calculated for an incident plane wave. It is found that the functions so derived are the same as those used previously for fitting the 1964, 10° field,x¯,y¯,z¯, color matching functions.
