Forced mobilization under general anesthesia

, : Forced mobilization under general anesthesia. Chirurgia degli Organi di Movimento 66(5): 409-414, 1980

Forced mobilization under general anesthesia of stiff proximal and middle joints of upper and lower limbs was studied. After some considerations on the limits and contraindications of this technique, a series of 259 cases is reported. Conclusions are drawn on the possibility of carrying out forced mobilization: in the knee, it is always possible, unless otherwise contraindicated; in the hip and shoulder it is possible only in selected cases; while in the elbow it is strongly unadvisable.
