Forensic science second edition

, : Forensic science second edition. Davies, G (Ed ) Forensic Science, Second Edition Ix+388p American Chemical Society: Washington, D C , Usa Illus Maps Paper Ix+388p

This second edition, published approximately ten years after the first, expands and updates information provided in the first edition. Both texts present the history, available training programs, and practical applications of forensic science. The beginning chapters of this monograph present an overview of the subject, while providing an update and critique of the available formal education in the field as well as providing reviews of the moral and ethical implications of forensic science. The next section of the text addresses the types of educational and training programs which are available. Current reviews on specific applications of forensic science are contained in the last sections, including topics on drug analysis, breath-alcohol testing, tracing the origin of blood and other body fluids, and particular applications of the microscope in specimen identification. Photographs, tables, graphs, and an index supplement the text.
