A revision of the British Euphrasiae

, : A revision of the British Euphrasiae. Jour Linn Soc London Bot 48(324): 467-544

This paper begins with a detailed review of previous work on the genus Euphrasia, followed by a description of the morphology of the section Semicalcaratae, which alone is represented in Britain. Hybridization, though not considered by the author as common, may be an important factor in the origin of new forms. The section Semicalcaratae is divided into the subsections Ciliatae (with series Latifoliae, Memo-rosae, Brevipilae, and Hirtellae) and Angustifoliae. The systematic account includes synonymies, references to useful figures, citation of exsiccatae, descriptions, remarks on taxonomy and habitat, and distributional records.
