A case of diabetic coma in a child aged 12 with recovery following the admn. of 7220 units of insulin within 14 hrs.[long dash]500 units within the first 3.5 hrs., 6200 during the following 7 hrs., and 520 units in the remaining 3 hrs., is reported. Physical response[long dash]respiratory, ocular pressure, blood pressure, skin changes, pulse rate, presence or absence of characteristic odor of acetone, were the guide to insulin therapy after the laboratory diagnosis had been established.
