Antimicrobical activity of thiosemi-carbazone and related compounds

, : Antimicrobical activity of thiosemi-carbazone and related compounds. Yakugaku Kenkyu 36(10): 15-24

The series of thiosemicarbazone and related compounds were screened against bacteria and fungi by tube dilution method. Among the compounds tested salicylalaldehyde-and 2-hydroxy acetophenone-thiosemicarba-zones, having OH-group at O position on the benzene ring were revealed to be most active. Substitution of NO2-group or Br atom enhanced the activity of these compounds. Trichomonadicidal activity of these compounds was examined showing no activity against Trichomonas vaginalism.
