Application of immuno-diffusion methods to the antigenic analysis of dengue viruses I Pre-cipitin-in-gel double diffusion in two dimensions

, : Application of immuno-diffusion methods to the antigenic analysis of dengue viruses I Pre-cipitin-in-gel double diffusion in two dimensions. J Immunol: 86-92

The antigenic analysis of dengue viruses was carried out by micro double immunodiffusion in 2 dimensions. Results indicated that D-l Hawaiian strain, and TH-Sman viruses shared at least one common antigen, and each possessed a specific antigen(s). Heterologous cross absorption removed the common, but not the specific antigen(s). It is therefore concluded that these 2 antigenically related viruses are not identical. Similarly, the antigenic analysis of TH-36 and D-2 New Guinea C strain revealed that these 2 viruses are not identical.
