Biocompatible studies on a new kind of abio-particle material for endovascular embolization

, : Biocompatible studies on a new kind of abio-particle material for endovascular embolization. Progress In Modern Biomedicine: 7, 1283-1285

In this study, biocompatibility of BaFe12O19 particle was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo using Ames test, cell toxicity test, acute and subacute systemic toxicity test, haemolysis test, haemopexis test, and bleeding and clotting time tests. Results showed that the material has no toxicity, no stimulation or mutation, and did not cause haemolysis or haemopexis. Also, it had no effect on bleeding time or clotting time.
