Brekziengroessen-Analyse, ein Hilfsmittel zur Kleintektonischen Untersuchung von groesseren Stoerungen

, : Brekziengroessen-Analyse, ein Hilfsmittel zur Kleintektonischen Untersuchung von groesseren Stoerungen. Neues Jahrbuch fuer Geologie und Palaeontologie Monatshefte

A statistical analysis of the size of fragments in the breccia of a transverse zone of dislocation in the Carboniferous of the Ruhr basin, Germany, demonstrates the close relation between brecciation of country rock and magnitude of tectonic activity. This method of microtectonic investigation is also useful for recognizing and evaluating the separate planes of movement within a large zone of dislocation.
