The book also covers surgery, bloodletting, gynecology, and obstetrics, and the role of magic in medicine. Quotations are given in the original languages along with English translations. The work will be of interest to medical historians and the general reader. There are 4 appendices with complete quotations referenced in certain chapters, a bibliography, and an index included.
