Voor demeeste mensen is vriendschap een essentieel onderdeel van het leven. Maar hoe is dat bij mensen met dementie? Is er nog werkelijke vriendschap mogelijk als je met onbekenden wordt samengebracht in een zorginstelling en je geheugen en taalvaardigheid steeds meer gebreken gaan vertonen? Wie te maken heeft met mensen met dementie, zegt waarschijnlijk instinctief ja op deze vraag. Toch valt het nog niet mee om echte vriendschappen te onderkennen.
