A new Sphenomorphus Lacertilia Scincidae from the rainforests of northeastern Queensland

, : A new Sphenomorphus Lacertilia Scincidae from the rainforests of northeastern Queensland. Records of the Australian Museum, 329: 373-383

A large undescribed species of skink associated with the rainforests between Cooktown and the Tully River on the Atherton Tableland was examined. The new species S. fuscicaudis was similar to S. nigricaudis a Papuan-Australian species that reaches the southern limit of its distribution at the base of Cape York Peninsula. A formal description of the species, and a summary of its natural history and relationships were presented.
