A quantative increase of cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo sinensis Shaw et Nodder populations in Poland

, : A quantative increase of cormorant Phalacrocorax carbo sinensis Shaw et Nodder populations in Poland. Przeglad Zoologiczny, 321: 71-81

Taking into account the recent increase of several European cormorant populations, a new complete record of occupied nests in Poland has been established in the end of May and in June 1986/87. The three complete registers in 1981, 86, 87 showed that the breeding population increased from c. 1500 in 1981, to 3700 in 1986 and over 4400 nests in 1987, with considerble expansion to the south. Greater number of nonbreeders reported from several other places allow to expect a further increase in number of breeders.
