A serological study of cytomegalovirus infection at Lucknow

, : A serological study of cytomegalovirus infection at Lucknow. Indian Journal of Medical Research 73: 678-681

The prevalence of cytomegalovirus (CMV) complement-fixing antibodies in the healthy female population of Lucknow was studied. Sera (340) were collected from female subjects in various age groups and 284 (83.5%) females had CMV antibody. There was a gradual increase in the prevalence of antibody up to 40 yr of age, beyond which the antibody titers gradually declined. There was no significant difference in antibody prevalence in different socio-economic groups.
