Sjögren sendromu, özellikle ekzokrin bezleri etkilemektedir. Hastalar, genellikle inatçı ağız ve göz kuruluğundan yakınmaktadır. Ancak, bu hastalarda böbrekler gibi nonekzokrin organlar da etkilenmektedir. Sjögren sendromunda, distal renal tubuler asidoz (dRTA) ve interstisyel nefrit sık görülmektedir. Ancak, dRTA’a sekonder ciddi hipokalemi ve paralizi, Sjögren sendromunun nadir görülen bir ortaya çıkış şeklidir. Burada, acil servise ciddi hipokalemik paralizi ile başvuran ve Sjögren sendromu tanısı konan bir hasta sunulmuştur.
